Varadero Map - Varadero Cuba Maps
The present Varadero municipality is located at the north of Matanzas province, being the smallest one with respect to territorial extension. It limits with Cardenas Bay at the south. It has a length of 30 square kilometres and 22.5 are of beaches.Varadero is divided in two Popular Councils now, Santa Marta - Boca de Camarioca and the Hicacus peninsula. Its most northern point is a fishing town called Las Morlas. all these are the componets of Varadero maps.
For better understanding varadero maps, the western part of the Hicacos Peninsula is the point from which Varadero begins and is at the left of the map of varadero. There, the Laguna de Paso Malo channel is the connection between the Cárdenas Bay and the Atlantic Ocean(cardenas also belongs to the varadero map). The Puente Bascular (Lift Bridge) is the spot after which the Vía Blanca highway becomes the Autopista Sur, and it goes all the way up the 20 km of the peninsula to Marina Gaviota at Varadero’s easternmost point so it is the ending of varadero and the easternmost of the varadero map. The Kawama Avenue, which begins at the same point as the Autopista Sur, runs west along the channel toward several other big resorts. All resors are located in the map, so having a map of varadero will also be used as varadero hotels map.
On the whole, the side of the peninsula that faces the Atlantic (which is the one that has the legendary 20 km of dazzling white sand that have made Varadero cuba so well-known all over the world) is allotted to tourist activities, whereas the side that faces the Cárdenas Bay is one of the places where the Cuban population of Varadero has settled. The other famous community in Varadero is Santa Marta, which is located at the western part of the map. The major and most luxurious resorts are placed on the east side(see east varadero map), named Punta Hicacos. The most peaceful portion of beach in the central Varadero is between 46 and 65 Streets.
The Varadero’s Historic Center, with no considerable historical monuments, is located around the Iglesia de Santa Elvira and the Parque Central, on 1st Avenue between 44 and 46 Streets. The most ancient notable hotel is the Hotel Internacional (on the western part of Las Américas Avenue), and it was erected in the 1950s, including a casino and a huge swimming pool. Those tourists that suffer from respiratory problems should avoid staying at the western end of Varadero, because there are oil wells nearby and they liberate a sulphurous gas that can be sometimes felt there.
All this information, as well as many other interesting and helpful facts should appear on a good, comprehensive map. However, finding this kind of maps in Cuba is sometimes very hard. That’s why, if you want to have them, you should look up for printable maps online. Many tour guides contain very good road maps of Varadero, which you can use in case you can’t find bigger ones.
